Lonelyland

Lonelyland is the advertised name of the regular Monday night ticketed residency by Bob Schneider and his band at the Saxon Pub on South Lamar. It's been a regular event for since 1999 and has little to do with the 2001 album of the same name. It's an opportunity for Bob Schneider to try out new music, recast old tunes and mess with his band and the audience.

Gord and Leslie had wanted to go again (we had them there in 2019) but decided against visiting Austin this year what with the Trump 2.0 Tariff Wars on Canada and the world. We really can't blame them. Anyways, we've been many times over the years (see 2024, 2020, 2019 and 2019 sic!). Usually it's only once while visiting the city but it's always been worth while. 

Bob Schneider can be outrageously funny and was again tonight.

We weren't able to get the front row seats and have discovered that there's a regular crew who are here every week and have booked them. Nevertheless we got a few good pictures and were seated very near the front.

We talked briefly with Bob after the show in the parking lot. We said how much we have enjoyed the show over the years, that we're from Canada, and, with Trump 2.0, we were sad that we might never be back. He replied that things weren't all that bad and the fuss was just the media. 

... I guess the shit hasn't hit his fan yet. And I wonder who did he vote for? Where are musicians like the Dixie Chicks (2003) who speak out against this crap?
