Circle Jerks

On Tuesday December 17, 1985 we saw the Circle Jerks at Bullwinkles in London, Ontario. When digging through my old slides during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2021 I bumped into a few slides of the event which I have scanned and then rendered as high contrast B/W for effect. It happened a long time ago and our memories have faded. But I do remember they were touring the "Wonderful" album, which I still have. The band was really intense and wild on the stage. The lead singer, Keith Morris, had on a walking cast -- he had fucked up is leg/ankle at some previous gig but soldiered on for us in London.

I see there's quite a few videos on Youtube of the event by user downtownlive (not sure who that person is). The video quality is pretty minimal but the sound, which was recorded off the soundboard, is pretty good. Apparently that recording was made with the band's permission.

The framed poster in the photo album was shared on Facebook in response to a posting of mine. It's part of a collection belonging to John JC Craig. John tells me that it was Dan Rudbal (October Crisis, Black Donnellys) who gave it to him. I used to shoot bands at local clubs (like the Circle Jerks) and collect posters as well.

This note and photo album were created '21/02/07.
